RE: [HolisticPet2] Re: Raw Feeding

Donna,

Supplementing depends on how, or if, the diet has been correctly balanced. I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t supplement their dogs diets with vitamins and/or minerals. For example, I know a buncha’ people whose dogs are on extremely restricted diets, because of health reasons, so those dogs need specific vitamins and minerals to get the diet as close to balanced as possible.

I feed prepackaged raw and Honest Kitchen, which are balanced ~~ probably overly balanced ~~ to AAFCO standards. But I also feed meals of offal, muscle meat, fish, or RMBs, so I don’t need to supplement with anything other than Wild Salmon Oil, and also the supplements specific to the special needs of my dogs.

Not to butt in but I belong to rawfeeding@yahoogroups.com.  I know on that group they don't seem to believe in any supplements at all which I disagree with but everyone to is own opinion.  Are you or were you on that group?
Thanks,
Donna ACS
