On Behalf Of Paula

Back in the early days, the Basic Barf (?) list saved the day. It
isn't for newbies, so I just lurked. That's when I found out how
simple and inexpensive the diet could be. I was SO relieved because I
had already started the intro period with just chicken...<<<

Paula,
You're absolutely right! The BARF lists are not for newbies, but
unfortunately newbies do find them and join. And yes, chicken is, or was,
the number one food to feed.
I "knew" 2 people who fed nothing but whole chickens because a BARF/raw
foods list recommended that as "complete," and both dogs got horribly ill
within 6 months.

>>>... When I tried to get assistance from the Raw Chat group, it was
homeopathy or nothing....<<<

Well, there's another issue with me! First, though, I do use "natural"
remedies whenever possible and as often as possible and as prevention. But
they're not always the answer, especially when we're facing a life and death
situation.
Sometimes we need to bring out the big guns, aka drugs, to heal our pets
quickly when we mess up through the fault of others. Homeopathy isn't always
*the* answer. Sometimes our dogs need help NOW, not in the time it takes for
homeopathy to take effect. I always have Milk Thistle on hand if my dogs
need drugs.
