Re: [HolisticPet] innova food problem...try real meat instead?
I have 2 dogs on Blue Buffalo dry- lamb & rice.
I also have 2 on strictly raw, the 2 on raw are my Scottish Terriers, I lost my 8 yr old girl to multiple organ failure almost a yr ago, she had developed skin lesions that the vet attributed to low thyroid. He put her on Science Die -et and she was dead 6 months later,I believe the vet food played a major part in her decline & death, I was too stupid to see it happening.
I have since adopted 2 more Scotties and plan on trying to keep them at optimal health by feeding raw.
I add Colostrum to the meat and Diatomatous Earth for internal parasite control.
You may want todump the dry and try raw for a while and see if you notice a difference in the skin, coat and energy of your animals.
It is not anymore expensive then feeding a can of "meat"
Plus you know what it is your feeding them-- "Chicken meal" can include feathers, beaks, feet,& chicken poop. Yum.
Cats are obligate carnivores, they need the meat for taurine. kibble is not meat.
Go to rawK9 yahoo.groups and learn about raw feeding.
good luck,
melody

Ive been feeding my dog and cat Innova dry and wet foods, along with
homemade foods. The last bag of cat food I bought, my cats threw up within 1/2
hour of eating it, and again for another 6 hours. I called the company to
see if they had any problems, of course they said they didnt. The
customer service wasnt too helpful. Has anyone experienced any problems with
Innova ? Im not sure what foods out there are safe anymore. Has anyone tried
Halo ?
