[HolisticPet] Why we do what we do
Recently Don and I took in a cocker that had lived on a lady's front
porch all his life, he is 10. Buddy Boy came into rescue but bit his
foster right away. We received the call saying if we could not take him
he would be put down. Don throws me the car keys and said go pick him
up. You could not touch him, he trusted no one. The neighborhood kids
had teased and hurt him. He had cigarette burns on his body. When we
took him to the vet he has a heart murmur grade 4. One of my friends
asked why are you incurring expenses on an old dog and you are letting
him take up space while other dogs have no where to go. Last week I
called this friend and I told her this is why we do what we do.
Buddy Boy is now playing with us and the other dogs. He goes around
with a smile on his face and he is happy. He likes his family. Buddy
Boy wants to be petted. He still is not sure about ear cleaning and eye
treatments, but that will come. He is now getting to know what love
feels like and to feel a part of a family. It is not his fault that he
had a bad owner who allowed him to be tortured. When you see them
change you know that you are doing what you are meant to do. Pattie and
