Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but the dogs and I have been out of
town.

Heck, I'd definitely tell you which raw group it was if I could only
remember. LOL!! It was many years ago, when I first started feeding raw.
Most likely it was one of the BARF lists.
What concerned me was the diehard Barfers kept posting to new members to
feed a "variety," and by feeding variety the diet would balance itself out
over time; every raw feeder has heard that one a million times. I wasn't
even a full-fledged raw feeder then and I knew something was terribly wrong
with that. But I didn't dare say anything.
Another thing that's bothersome is many of the members assume raw is the
best way to feed, and the only way, to all dogs.
Oh, and *another* thing is, newbies join raw lists and they believe all that
false information so they feed the way they're told. It's downright scary.

That said, maybe ~~ hopefully ~~ information has changed on some of the raw
lists. I just don't know because it's been a long time since I was on any of
them.

There was another list I was on for a few months, years ago, that I won't
mention the name of here because I'm pretty sure members on this list are
members of that one. But I had posted a message and I didn't word it quite
right and I was jumped on *immediately* by the list OWNER and the
Moderators! And they weren't tactful about how they replied to my ooops.
I knew what I had written was fact, but after they gave me the what for, I
went back and re-reread my post and I had accidentally twisted 2 words and
holy cow did I get hit for it.

Oh, the prey model! In March, a gal and I were talking about it, and she
said the members on the prey model list/s are whacko. LOL!!

May I ask which raw group you are referring to? I know we've been on
several together but you may have found one I didn't find.

Originally (9+ years ago) I was on a bunch of raw lists, all run by
the same person. During my original 'education' I ended up with a
tablet full of notes about supplements, weights & measures, etc. I
made myself crazy before I ever fed the first raw meal. Then I
figured out that most of the dogs were already sick before starting
raw; then I figured out that BARF wasn't the only method. It was ages
before I ran across prey model. Basically, an extremely simple diet
got very complicated and I was convinced that I couldn't do it. I was
also convinced that a raw diet was the only way to go.

Now I've had to make compromises. The RMBs aren't what they used to
be, the 3 dogs are all older and 2 had vax damage prior to stopping
vax and the diet change. It would be nice to be able to post a
question without getting flamed.
